Meet: Dr. Mark Lewis DDS.
Hello, I would like to introduce and reintroduce myself to everyone. I am Dr. Mark Lewis.
After graduation from Columbus High School, Columbus IN, I completed a degree in biology from Indiana University. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from IU in 1981.
I started practicing on the west side of Indianapolis in 1981 and continued until 2002. In January 2002, Dr. Barta assumed my practice, and I continued to practice for him one day per week until July of that year. I felt the call to do some type of mission dentistry. I worked for Mobile Dental Services serving the needs of long term care facility patients. I subsequently left that company and ran a dental practice in Logansport for Area Five Agency on Aging and Community Services. We mainly serviced the underprivileged and Medicaid population in the Logansport area.
I feel that I have been called back to the private practice sector, but still have the desire to contribute to the health and welfare of less fortunate individuals. My plans are to practice full time with Dr. Barta, yet still contribute to mission dentistry as much as possible.
In addition to mission dentistry, I have special interest in fixed and removable prosthetic treatment. And I have completed post graduate training at the Pankey Institute with a focus on comprehensive diagnosis, treatment planning, and prosthetics.
On a personal note, I do have a life outside the dental office. I have a lovely wife, Kim; a son, Jared; and a daughter Abby. I enjoy staying physically fit, motorcycles, bible studies, and volunteering with church activities.
I look forward to getting to meet anyone who doesn't know me, and to renew my former acquaintances.
