West 10th Dental Group Welcomes Dr. Rusnak!
Hello. My name is Dr. Katie Rusnak, and I am the newest member of the West 10th Dental Group. I grew up in Indianapolis and actually graduated from Ben Davis High School right here on the west side. I attended Purdue University where I received my bachelors degree in Nutrition Science. I then worked for a few years before entering dental school at Indiana University. I graduated from IU School of Dentistry, and immediately entered the pediatric dentistry residency program at Riley Hospital. During my years at Riley, I worked exclusively with pediatric and special needs patients. During this time I gained extensive experience with pediatric behavior management, sedation techniques, operating room dentistry, orthodontics and current pediatric preventive and restorative dentistry.
As a pediatric dentist, my goal is to help all of my patients grow up cavity free! I enjoy educating parents and patients about the latest techniques to prevent tooth decay. When kids do develop cavities, my goal is not only to restore those teeth, but also to provide children and their parents with tools to stop the cycle of tooth decay and prevent future problems. As a pediatric dentist, I strive to make all of your child's dental visits positive experiences. By teaching kids early that the dental office is not a place to fear, we can help establish good habits and oral health for a lifetime.
I am currently an active member in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentists. I have obtained Board Eligible Status with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and hope to complete my board certification in the next year.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my husband Michael and my German Shepherd Leia. We all love being outdoors - running, hiking, biking, skiing and indoors cheering for the Colts!
I am enjoying working with the wonderful staff at West 10th Dental Group and getting to know our growing group of pediatric patients. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about dental care for your family!
